VEGANISM & COMPASSION EDUCATION

WHAT IS VEGANISM?
Veganism is a lifestyle and ethical philosophy that seeks to avoid all forms of exploitation and cruelty to animals, whether for food, clothing, entertainment, or any other purpose. At its heart, veganism is about respecting life and recognizing that animals are not objects or commodities, but sentient beings capable of feeling pain, fear, joy, and love.
Veganism goes beyond diet. While food choices are central, veganism also encourages compassion in how we dress, consume, and live.
WHY VEGANISM MATTERS IN ZAMBIA AND AFRICA?
In Zambia and across Africa, our traditions value community, respect, and harmony with nature. Veganism aligns with these values by promoting:
•Kindness to animals, who are often treated as property rather than living beings
•Human health, by reducing diet-related illnesses
•Environmental protection, as forests, water, and land are under increasing pressure
•Food security, through efficient use of crops and land
Choosing plant-based foods can reduce hunger, protect ecosystems, and build a healthier society.
